Dress Code Ordnance Club is a very old and prestigious Institution under the management of Indian Army with strong customs and traditions dating back to the British era. It is therefore incumbent upon our esteemed Members and Guests to follow the laid down Dress Code in letter and spirit for upholding its rich heritage. The Salient Points of the Dress Code applicable for Gents, including boys above 12 years, are reiterated as under for all to abide :-

Leather Shoes with Socks are mandatory inside the Club premises, except for Sports activities for which Sports / White PT Shoes and Socks may be worn.

Members/Guests should not enter the Club in Sandals/ Chappals.

Shirts and T-shirts must be tucked-in and not left out hanging.

Only Collared T-Shirts are allowed, no Round-Neck T-Shirts are permitted.

Entry of Guest Club members are requested to register the details of their guests at the Club Reception while entering for security reasons. Visitors not accompanied by a club member shall not be allowed entry in the club premises.

Visit to Affiliated Club Members wishing to use the facilities of Affiliated Clubs are required to carry “INTRODUCTORY CARD’ alongwith their Membership Card for use of facilities at these clubs. Introductory Card is issued from the club office. Affiliated Clubs may deny the use of their facilities in case of non production of the Introductory Card/Membership Card.

Car Parking Members are hereby intimated that Chauffer driven cars will not parked next to Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) or the Club boundary wall. The parking outside the AFT wall and Club boundary upto DGQA complex has been earmarked for self driven cars. Members are requested to kindly abide by this and instruct their drivers accordingly.
Civil Bar We are pleased to announce the grand opeining of the fully renovated ‘Civil Bar’, which is now the ‘Toast of the Town’. Also, by installing the Draught Beer, we have addressed the long outstanding requirement of our members, who can now enjoy their Beer in the Swanky ‘100 Pipers’ Bar.

Lobby Members may happily note that as per our modernisation plan, renovation of the Lobby facing the Club Lawns will be undertaken next, which would further enhance the overall ambience of this prestigious Institution.

Outstanding Dues Members are requested to promptly clear their outstanding Bills, sent every month on their Registered email address. Delay beyond last day of the following month will attract a Penalty Charge @ 2% per month. Also, with the recent upgradation of ‘Clubman Software’, outstanding Club Bills may lead to Freezing of Membership and Blocking of Smart Cards.
Puja Gratuity As per tradition, contribution towards Puja Gratuity paid to the Club Staff is collected from members through their Club bills every year. All members are requested to pay the amount as reflected in their bills for the month of June 2019 for timely distribution of Puja Gratuity 2019 to the Club staff.

Updation of Email ID/Mobile Number All members are requested to update their Mobile No and Email address with the Club office immediately to avoid any delay in the receipt of Monthly Bills or regarding the ongoing club activities. The onus of updating the correct details rests with the member himself.

Sale by Coupons during Functions. Members are hereby informed that for ease of accounting and better crowd handling, Sale during major club events will be through COUPONS ONLY and SELF SERVICE. Members are kindly requested to cooperate in this regard.

Swimming Pool Passes Ordnance Club Swimming Pool is the Nerve Centre of Bustling Activity where young and old like to take a cool dip to fight the sweltering heat. Club Management has therefore decided to extend Special Vacation and Monthly Passes from 01 July 19 and make it a “Can’t Avoid” proposition for all. So take out your Swim Suits & Trunks for the Acquatic Esctasy in the beautiful Pool surroundings.

Clearance of Dues There have been cases where members have not cleared their Dues since long. On enquiry it is revealed that members have moved out of Kolkata and even changed their Email Address/Mobile Numbers with no intimation to the Club. Their Dues thus keep increasing, with the onus of timely clearance resting solely on members, as also the Proposer/Seconder and the Countersigning authority of the Membership Form. All Members specially Defence and Service Members with limited tenure in Kolkata are requested to obtain their final clearance from the Club Authorities before relocating elsewhere.
Conservation of Electricity. With a ‘Go Green’ Motto, the Club has embarked on various measures to prevent wasteful expenditure of electricity, which is a scare resource and should be conserved by one and all. We therefore request the whole hearted participation and support of the Members and Guests in our concerted drive.

Sports /Dependent Members. Sports /Dependent/Corporate members are requested to ensure payment of their annual membership charges by the due date to avoid blocking of Smart Card and levy of late payment charges.

Pre Charged Smart Cards Various guests, parents, reciprocal members of affiliated Clubs and other transients, who visit Ordnance Club can now obtain Smart Card at the Reception and pre-charge it for any desired amount to avail the Catering and Bar facilities of the Club. Refund of the Card’s Security Deposit and balance Amount in the Card after utilizing Club services can be claimed at the Reception on return. Use of existing Cash Coupons of Rs 100 & Rs 500 denominations will however continue as hither-to-fore depending on the individual’s choice.
Decorum of Children Ordnance Club would be amongst the very few Clubs in the City which allows children accompanied by the Members/ Guests. Certain complaints by other Club members, regarding the behaviour of few young kids within the Club premises or during functions, have been received in the recent past. Though the Club staff does oversee their activities and ticks off the unruly children from damaging Club assets or disturbing other members, the onus of ensuring adherence to Club Decorum by Children however rests solely with the respective Members/Guests, so that others are not put to any inconvenience.
Swimming Pool

The Swimming Pool at OC has undergone a major renovation with upgradation and addition of new facilities and services, thereby bringing it up to the high standards befitting our Club. With an airconditioned Resturant, functional Jacuzzi, Modern LED lighting, Complete Wall and Ceiling makeover, the overall Pool ambience has drastically uplifted, which shall invite more Splashers & Swimmers to beat the hot and humid city weather. We also intend to organize several events in the Pool Area for our members and families to enjoy.

The Renovated Pool shall be opening for the season on 02 Mar 2016. Seasonal Passes can be collected from the Club Reception/Office on payment of the prescribed charges and the ‘Early Birds’ can also avail handsome Discounts. Use of Swimming Pool will not be allowed without valid Swimming Pass or Coupon. Members and Guests are advised to adhere to the laid down norms for the Swimming Pool.

Gents Saloon We are pleased to announce the opening of Gents Saloon ‘Rave’ in our Club shortly, which was a long standing demand of our members. This will go miles in offering a wide spectum of quality services for the male clientele. Members are requested to patronize the facility and also spread the word around.

Service Tax Members are hereby informed that as per Govt Rules, the Service tax levied by the Club against the various services provided have been revised to 14%. All members are requested to kindly cooperate and abide by the norms as and when notified and implemented.

Members Nite A Member’s Nite is being organized in the Club on 02 May 2015 after a long gap, wherein desirous members can stage a performance as per their liking and talent. Besides showcasing individual prowess, it will help rejuvenate the association among the esteemed members of our Club and enrich the camaraderie.

Penalty To ensure patronizing of the Club on a regular basis, the ‘Minimum Billing’ clause has been imposed by the Governing Body, which includes the billing pertaining to liquor and catering paid through Smart Cards only and not those against Coupon Sale / Cash payment. It is further informed that a Penalty of 2% per month as ‘Late Fees’ is levied against all outstanding Bills and members are therefore advised to clear their dues by the due date.
Affiliation We are pleased to announce increasing of our Affiliation for reciprocal arrangements from 35 Clubs to 40 Clubs of great repute across the country.The following Clubs have been newly added :- (a) Shree Ummed Club, Nayapura,Kota. (b) Bankipore Club Limited, Judges Court Road, Patna. (c) Deccan Gymkhana Club, Talim Pavilion, Pune. (d) Janakpuri Club, New Delhi. (e) Jiwaji Club, Gwalior.

Swimming Pool . Swimming Pool will reopen for the Season from 09 March 2015 . Seasonal Passes are available at the Club Reception and Office. Use of Swimming Pool will not be allowed without valid Swimming Card/Coupons. Zumba Zumba Classes were introduced in the Club from 15 Sep 14 in association with ‘Flash Fitness’. The response of Members and Guests has been overwhelming. The Airconditioned Hall with wooden flooring and a good set of professional trainers have caught the imagination of young and old to jive and work out with the catchy music. Members and Guests not yet enrolled may do so at the earliest to avail this fitness regimen.

Billiards Hall In line with the Club’s modernization plan, the Billiards Hall has been recently renovated, which can now boast of being an envious venue for the game aficionados.

'Rage', The Health Club The Health Club has undergone a complete makeover and upgrade and has been rechristened as ‘Rage’. The dedicated Trainers, state of the art equipments and the overall ambiance at a highly competitive price has made it a ‘Must Utilize’ option across all age groups.

Security Deposit The Governing Body during the Annual Meeting on 19th Nov 14 had decided to implement a uniform Security deposit for Members for enhancement of credit limit. Few members who have not yet paid the said amount are being charged in the Monthly Bill of Feb 2015 and are requested to pay at the earliest.

Year Ending Functions The Year Ending functions of the Club have been a great success. We thank all our members, dependents, guests and the sponsorers for their active participation in all the events.

Peerless Hospital We are pleased to announce our association with the reputed Peerless Hospital, Kolkata who have graciously consented to extend special discounts to our Club members, details of which will be displayed on the Notice Board shortly. They shall also be organizing free Medical Camps in our Club for the benefit of all members.

Uniform Security Deposit In order to enhance the credit limit available on Smart Cards, the Governing Body during the Annual General Body Meeting has approved charging of a uniform interest free Refundable Security Deposit of Rs 20000/- from all members in phases, details of which have already been displayed on the Notice Board. Members are kindly requested to deposit the requisite amount by 31 Jan 2015.

Upgradation of Health Club The Health Club Flex-N-Fit has now been upgraded and equipped with the best gyming equipments. Members are requested to patronize the facility and avail of discounted annual/seasonal offers.

Zumba The Zumba classes are being regularly conducted in the Hall every Monday and Thursday and the response of participants is highly encouraging. Members are therefore advised to enroll for the classes and also spread the word for guests to attend.
Validity of Coupons Validity of Coupons of year 2013 will expire on 30 Sep 14. Members are requested to utilise their balance coupons within this period. No Coupons of year 2013 will be accepted from 01 Oct onwards.

Important Dos & Don'ts
All members are requested to abide by the followings:-

Always carry the Smart Card and produce it at Reception to establish identity.

Adhere to the laid down Dress Code. Slippers, Sports Shoes, round neck T-Shirts and untucked Shirts/T-Shirts are not permitted.

Guests should be accompanied by Members and entertained as per the Club’s guidelines. Children above 5 years will be levied guest charges.

Willingly endorse guest details in the Register at Reception.

Ensure timings and club decorum is maintained at all times.

Adhere to the laid down Dress Code. Slippers, Sports Shoes, round neck T-Shirts and untucked Shirts/T-Shirts are not permitted.

Clear monthly bills promptly and ensure outstanding amount does not cross the credit limit (50% of Security Deposit).

Update email id, mobile number and residential address regularly.

Lost or damaged Smart Card should be reported and replaced immediately.

Serving Defence Officers should obtain ‘No Dues’ clearance from the Club before proceeding on posting.

Foreigners are not permitted inside the Club without written permission from Army Authorities.

Carrying of Membership Card It is reiterated that carrying of Membership Card by all members whenever visiting the Club is mandatory. Members are further requested to produce the same at the reception whenever asked for to establish the identity.

Guest Entry Members are once again advised to endorse details of accompanying guests in the Register maintained at the Reception. In case the entries are not made by members at the time of entry, the reception staff has been directed to make suitable endorsement in the register at his end, which will be accordingly charged in the monthly bill. Representation from members on this account will not be entertained.

Parking Etiquettes The Club has limited parking space available. Members are therefore requested to adhere to the following norms :-

The Parking space available next to the Lawn walls on the Club side will be earmarked for self driven vehicles of members.

Parking space across the road adjoining the DGQA Complex is also earmarked for self driven vehicles and for short duration parking only.

All members are requested not to Park in Areas which have been cordoned and marked “Reserved’ for VIP parking during visits and functions.

No vehicle should be parked in front of the DGQA, AFT Court and COS Residence Gates.

Chauffeur driven vehicles should be neatly parked beyond the above mentioned specified parking in a manner not to inconvenience the traffic flow on Commissariat and Clyde Road.

Members are requested to sensitize their drivers to adhere to the parking norms and maintain good behaviors as per the Club decorum.

Reduction in Swimming Pool Charges Swimming Pool charges have been reduced wef 01 Jul 14. Members and their Guests desirous of availing the swimming facility are requested to approach the Club Reception.

Credit Ceiling Hon’ble members are once again reminded that the maximum permitted Credit facility is restricted to 50% of the Security Deposit.

Maintaining Decorum of Club All members of the Club are requested to maintain the decorum of the Club. Guests accompanied by members may also be suitably advised to adhere to the Club Rules. Loud talking, singing and talking on mobile inside the Bar, Dining hall, etc is not permitted. Laid down timings of the Club are to be strictly followed. Members and their Dependents/Guests are expected to be appropriately dressed as per Club Rules while visiting the Club. Respect for elders and ladies is an expected norm.

Sports/Dependent Members Sports /Dependent members are requested to ensure the payment of their annual membership charges by the due date to avoid blocking of the Smart Card and levy of Late Payment charges.

Entertaining Guests Though we encourage entertaining of Guests and organizing Parties by Members, the following guidelines may kindly be followed :-

More than eight persons in a group constitutes a ‘Small Party’.

Available venues in the Club premises are to be booked for this purpose in advance.

Club Authorities/Reception needs to be contacted prior to the planned date for ascertaining the availability, reserving the space and coordinate other modalities.

Shifting of Sofas, Tables and Chairs by Members/Guests on their own without informing the Club staff is strictly prohibited.

Availing common area by Groups for personal parties on Club function days and otherwise on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays when the footfalls are large, are normally not permitted as it infringes the privileges of other members. However specific permission may be granted on exceptional cases only if other Party venues of the Club are already booked.

Defence Members are requested to avoid entertaining civilian Guests in Defence Bar due to paucity of space and restriction of liquor drawing entitlement.

Farewell to Patron-in-Chief Ordnance Club bade farewell to the Patron-in-Chief Lt Gen Gautam Moorthy, AVSM,VSM,ADC, DGOS & Sr Col Comdt, who superannuated on 31 May 2014. All members expressed their sincere gratitude to the Patron-in-Chief for his vision and able guidance which has made this Club an institution of Pride and Stature.

Club News Ordnance Club has embarked on a modernization drive wherein large scale renovations have been undertaken, besides upgrading the existing facilities. Among the few initiatives that have been accomplished are the renovation of Peacock Room, Kitchen, Banquet Hall Washrooms & Floor, Dining Hall and the Extension Dining Hall, Bar Lounge, Ladies & Gents Change Rooms of Swimming Pool, Squash Court, Jamboree ( New Party Room), Billiards Table, etc which have been upgraded to standards befitting the rich traditions of the Club.

As per the Upgradation Plan, the Management is pleased to announce that the Club will be taking up the renovation of the Main Entrance and the Reception Area shortly to give facelift and a new look to this prestigious institution. Also a Coffee Shop would be coming up soon. Refurbishing of the Guest Rooms will be taken up concurrently. Activating the Club Library is also on cards, which shall soon be revived for the members. A Mocktail Counter with exiciting mixes has also been put up to quench the tangy urge with the style quotient.

And if that’s not all, there is good news for our health enthusiasts – Ayurvedic Therapy Centre ‘Rudram ’ will be opening very shortly which besides rendering professional advice by Dr Samarjit Ghatak, BAMS (CU) and Dr Arati Ghatak, BAMS (Maharashtra) shall also offer wide range of treatments to include Abhyangam (Massage), Sirodhara, Potli Massage, Mykhalepam, Talam, Kati Vasti and Consultation for Chronic Diseases.

The Online Payment through the newly designed Club website is functional whereby members can make payments from the ease of home using Debit Card, Credit Card or through Inter net Banking. The Club shall also be installing the Swipe Card Machine soon at the Reception for the ease of payment by the members.

Member's Database Ordnance Club is in the process of refining the Member’s Database. Members are therefore advised to update their email id, Mobile Number, Address, Date of Birth, Family details and other relevant information for prompt accessibility and better services. Details already available may also be verified for correctness on any working day during office hours.

Dress Code The Club takes pride in its rich Army legacy and traditions. It is therefore mandatory for all Members and Guests to follow the laid down Dress Code and norms. Members using the Sports facility and attired in games dress are advised to refrain from consuming refreshments and snacks in the Club Main Building on account of Dress Code restrictions.

Smart Cards All Members are requested to carry their Smart Cards when visiting the Club. Verification of Dependents and Guest’s age may be carried out at the Club Reception for which a valid Age Proof / ID Card may kindly be furnished willingly to avoid any embarrassment at a later stage.

Decorum Though children can accompany the Members/Guests to the Club, the onus of ensuring maintenance of Club Decorum at all times rests solely with the respective Members/Guests so that others are not put to any inconvenience.
ONLINE BILL PAYMENT The Ordnance Club website has been freshly designed and hosted on url http://www.ordnanceclub.com which has several new features and functionalities. Besides an impressive layout, the website has been painstakingly developed as a repository of this prestigious Institution with meaningful writeups and catchy pictures. Adding value to the software, Members Area has been incorporated to facilitate ‘Online Payment’ of outstanding dues. This will ease payment of dues by the members who can now transact at ease even while sitting at home or travelling, simply by the click of a mouse. All aspects of security and safeguards are inbuilt in the package. However certain salient points which are to be borne in mind while operating are listed below :-

Enter the user name which is the Membership Number, eg LM(Space)2304 or SP(Space)352.

For first time login, the default password is 12345.

Thereafter, the password needs to be changed and confirmed. Necessary care is to be taken to remember the new password, which should not to be shared with anyone. Passwords are case sensitive and this aspect should be considered while entering the same.

Once the password has been correctly entered, the Bill List Page opens, wherein the details of bills are reflected with option to View or Pay.

However for activating the Pay option, it is mandatory that the correct email address is registered on the members ‘My Account’ tab displayed on the Menu Bar of the Members Area which can be edited, if not done earlier.

The Pay option offers the payment modes of Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking and also displays the Bank Charges leviable on the same.

On clicking the Pay Tab and then Confirm, the Axis Bank Payment Gateway is accessed, which then guides the member till the culmination of successful transaction, akin to any other payment gateways with necessary prompts and verifications.

An SMS will be sent to the members on their registered Mobile number immediately on completion of a successful bank transaction.
