Hon’ble members are requested to enter their suggestion/complaints/grievances in the Suggestion Book kept at the Reception so that they can be attended to and quality of service improved.
Swimming Gala
Participants for various competitions must give their names well in advance to the Organising Committee. Last minute entries will not be entertained.
Affiliation with Amar Singh Club, Jammu

Sawani – Ladies Club Programme
The green festival Sawani organized by Ladies Club members will be held on 8th Aug 2009 . The programme will be a colourful one with variety entertainment programme, games and sumptuous lunch.
Reconstitution of Sub Committee
Sports, Culture and Ladies Club Sub-Committees will be re-constituted in the month of July 09. Members desirous to be nominated to these Sub-Committees are requested to forward their names to the President/PA to the President latest by 15 July 2009.
Issue of Cheque to the Club
It has been observed time and again that a number of cheques received in the Club office from members are without membership number and their name. Members are requested to send their cheques duly endorsed with their names and membership numbers to facilitate correct entry in member’s account.
Credit Stoppage List
On scrutiny of monthly payment of bills of hon’ble members it has been observed that a large number of members are due to clear their monthly bills even after lapse of three to four months. It has now been decided by the management to display a list of defaulters every month by the first week of the following month to bring the same to attention and subsequent stoppage of credit facilities to them. Prior to implementation of said instructions, members are requested to check their dues from the Club office and clear the bills immediately which will help the management to avoid inconvenience to the members.
Decorum of Club
All members of the Club are requested to maintain the decorum of the Club. Even guests are required to follow the Club rules. Loud talking, singing in the bar, using mobile inside Bar, Dining hall etc are not allowed. Timings of Club also must be adhered to. Respect for elders and ladies is also requested. Members and their dependents/guests are expected to be appropriately dressed as per Club Rules while visiting the Club.
Entry of Guests
All members must enter the details of their guests in the guest Register before entering the Club to avoid embarrassment at a later stage or while leaving.
Renovation
The Kitchen has been renovated and modernized recently to improve its hygiene and sanitation. Efforts are on to improve the catering service. Members are requested to utilize the facilities created at great cost.
Entry of Members for Entertainment Programme
We would like to remind the members that entry to the Club for members and their dependents for all Club programmes is free. It would be a pleasure to see all members and their dependents attending the functions and using the occasion for socializing and entertainment.
Credit Ceiling
It is to remind the hon’ble members that the maximum permitted credit facilities for members is restricted to their security deposit only.
Change of Prefix in Service Membership Number
With immediate effect, all defence service officers (Army, Navy and Air Force only) will have the prefix in their Membership Number changed from “SER” to “DEF”. Accordingly, their Membership Number will now be “DEF/Existing Number”. All other service members from govt services other than defence will continue to use “SER” as prefix in their Membership Number without any change.
Service Bar
The long standing demand of defence services officers of having a bar of their own was met with the inauguration of the Service Bar on 09 Jan 09 by Maj Gen SBS Chaudhary, MG AOC, HQ Eastern Command who is also the Resident Patron of the Club. The bar is meant only for the serving and defence officers who are entitled to draw liquor from CSD Canteen.
Dress Rule
Ordnance Club being an institution under the Defence Department, has to follow the dress code very strictly as per laid down norms. All members are fully aware of the dress rule which they have agreed to follow at the time of applying for membership. The salient points of the dress code applicable for the Club are as under :-
(a) Leather shoes with socks are mandatory inside the club premises except for sports activities for which white PT shoes and white socks may be worn.
(b) Sandals and chappals are not allowed.
(c) Shirts and T-shirts must be tucked-in and not left out hanging.
(d) Round-neck T-Shirts are not allowed.
Hon’ble Members are requested to cooperate so as to maintain the discipline and decorum of this prestigious institution.
Transfer of Membership
Transfer of membership of non-active, old and desirous members to grand-sons, grand-daughters, sons-in-law or daughters-in-law has been approved by the Governing Body subject to meeting the requisite status and standards of the Club and payment of requisite fee.
Care of Personal Belongings
Members are requested to take personal care of their valuables and cash while in the Club. Instances of mobiles & other items being left on the tables have been noticed. Cash & valuables brought for swimming be deposited and taken over correctly.
Tips
Members are once again requested not to tip the staff to avoid situations like demanding of tip as a right and deterioration in standard of service if not paid the tip. Giving of tips by member is equally illegal as asking for it or acceptance by the staff.
